The Western Shoshone Peace and Friendship Run and Walk is underway this week on Western Shoshone land. This land is recognized in The Treaty of Ruby Valley of 1863.
This land is scarred by the US government's atomic bomb testing and radiation.
In the photos, Bad Bear's father Buck Sampson said the walkers and runners on the hill are searching for a good place to plant willow saplings, offering prayers and blessings for the land.
